Welcome to the new website of Forum of Indian Professionals in Hong Kong.

The new website helps you to manage your membership with FIPHK in a better manner. We have plans to make the website more interactive by creating a small social network where in people can interact with each other through an online interface. Pravasi Bhartiya Samman for FIPHK President, Harry Banga

The President of the Forum of Indian Professionals Hong Kong has been awarded the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman by Smt Pratibha Patil, the President of India.

President Confers Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Awards to 15 Eminent Pravasi Indians
The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil
gave away Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Awards to the eminent Overseas Indians which included Sir Anand Satyanand from New Zealand, Prof. Veena Harbhagwan Sahajwalla from Australia, Ms. Lata Pada from Canada, Mr. Harindrapal Singh Banga from Hong Kong, Mr. Mohammad Munir Nazir Hassan Ansari from Israel, Mr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva from Liberia, Tan Sri Dato’ Ajit Singh from Malaysia, Mr. Saleh Wahid from Netherlands, Indian Community Benevolent Forum of Qatar, Dr. Mohiaddin Syed Karimuddin from Saudi Arabia, Mr. Mano Selvanathan of Sri Lanka, Mr. Mohan Jashanmal from UAE, Baroness (Dr.) Sandip Verma from UK, Mr. Ashook Kumar Ramsaran from USA and Dr. Rajiv Shah from USA.


The Union Minister for Development of North-East Region(DoNER) and Mines, Shri B.K. Handique, the Secretary, Ministry of DoNER, Ms Jayati Chandra, the Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs Dr. A. Didar Singh were also present on the occasion.


Around 2000 participants took part in this year’s convention organised in association with Ministry of DoNER and eight North-eastern states.

This is a matter of pride for us that our very own Harry has been recognised by our Nation for his services to the community.

As many of you would know, the ninth edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention was held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, from 7-9 January, 2011. The Prime Minister inaugurated this annual flagship event of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs on January 8. We have arranged a function to felicitate Harry on his being conferred with this prestigious award. As conveyed to you earlier, the Consul General of India, Hong Kong, Mr. Gaddam Dharmendra and other invited guests will attend this function. You are kindly invited to attend the function with your spouse.
