The Forum was established with the following broad objectives: - To arrange for an exchange of views on subjects of common, topical interest, and to organize talks and discussions involving speakers from India, Hong Kong and elsewhere.
- To engage in charitable work in India and Hong Kong.
- To welcome Indian professionals arriving in Hong Kong, and to help them meet like-minded compatriots.
- To act as a key channel for providing views and suggestions to the Government of the HKSAR on issues concerning the Indian professional community.
- To act as a channel for providing views and suggestions to the Government of India on increasing the attractiveness of India for investors and on issues concerning Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs).
- To liaise with other Indian community organizations active in Hong Kong, India and elsewhere.
- To pursue any other activities of common interest to Indian professionals based in Hong Kong. [Implicit.]
- To promote academic exchange of students between India and China and Hong Kong.
- To assist in securing parity for Indian academic institutions with other foreign institutions.
- To organize visits to places of other professions and to increase the understanding in our members of the diverse professions that thrive in Hong Kong and elsewhere.
